Fox News: Then Liars Now Hypocrites

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Fox News falsely claimed in a full-page newspaper advertisement that no cable news network other than themselves covered the Tea Party march on Washington, rhetorically asking how all the other news networks could have missed something so important.

So, what cable news channel failed to send any reporters to the 75,000-person gay rights march in Washington this past weekend?

Of course.

(As John Stewart did comedically point out, Fox News did take the time to send a news team out to a deserted New Jersey suburban sidewalk for an 8-minute-and-16-second broadcast to talk about a small anti-Obama protest that had occurred there earlier in the day.)

Remember kids, there are "fair and balanced" people out there who are paid to make you stupid.

I question the 75,000 marchers figure, however I WAS an observer of a gay rights parade in San Francisco in the early 80's.

I was conducting a three day investment seminar at the Fairmont Hotel. My only regret, in watching from an upper-floor window was that I did not record it for posterity.

Bare-breasted Dikes on Bikes led the parade. There were also contingents of Transexuals, and Transvestites.

Why is it that name-recognized homosexuals and lesbians disassociate themselves from such shinnagins?

Why is it that poster stars for gay acceptance are of the Rock Hudson variety?

Really?

When gays were getting married people like you were aghast that it was an endless parade of boring old and middle aged gay couples tying the knot in front of the worlds media.

Dulcify,

Who are you referring to as being aghast? Me or Mike? I'm assuming Mike, since he was the one who referred to it. I didn't know you knew each other.

However, I'm not disinclined to the thought myself: The "Bruno" crowd isn't the "politically correct" image that the gay community is trying to promulgate in the mindset of the people they are trying to convince of their ordinariness.

It's not that such an image as Mike describes isn't a part of gay life, but it isn't the part that the gay community wants at the van of the fight for gay equality. Thus, strictly for "marketing" reasons, they downplay it.
