I'm quite confident — since President Obama does talk about... and plan for... peace and harmony a whole lot more than our last President, or any American President in recent history — that a Nobel Peace Prize would be (should have been) in Obama's future. But now? After what? That speech in Cairo? The fact that he only took one diplomatic step backward instead of the standard 2 or 3 with Israel? Making Russia happy by scrapping a missle program that was pointless anyway? Getting North Korea to come back to the bargaining table to get more no-strings-attached free shit from the U.S.? That interracial beer party?
I have a feeling that people who have worked longer, and achieved more for peace on Earth are feeling a little let down right now.

Be aware that nominations had to be submitted by Feb 1st 2009, only 11 days into his Presidency. So I assume that he was nominated for what he had accomplished prior to Feb 1st 2009. Wonder if he will accept the cash award?
Basically, anybody can nominate anybody. Therefore it's not surprising that Obama was nominated, even if that person nominated him for no real reason whatsoever. Obviously the voting took place at a later date than February 1, 2009, which provided more opportunity for Obama to (ahem) "earn" his award.
I'm not harshing on Obama. It's not his fault those people voted for him, and it's not his fault that he didn't deserve it. Blaming Obama for this would be like blaming the ugly girl for winning a beauty pagaent.
I'm sure he'll accept the cash award. If stupid people want to give him a million dollars as a prize in a popularity contest, why argue with them? It's not tax payer money, and the award doesn't oblige the President in any way.
Of course, certain people of a certain political bent will blame Obama for this, or call him arrogant for being gracious instead of calling this a bad decision. That's just political and diplomatic nescience and opportunistic disparagement on their part. Bloggers and pundits can call this a bad decision; a world leader cannot.
In truth, if Obama were to do what these certain people are going to demand he do (decline the award, refuse the prize, denounce the judgement), it would exactly embody the arrogance and egotistism that these people will accuse him of for not doing so.
Just goes to show how few real legitimate leaders there are in the world right now.
President Obama step ups to the plate and takes his pitches unlike the rest of the world's players. He stands there and plays it straight -- for better, or for worse. Like most "true" big hitters, he's going to miss quite a few and then he's going to hit a few home runs and an occasional Grand Slam.
At least he's got the balls (bad pun I know) to to get up to the plate and play.
The Nobel Prize in this case is more akin to be awarded: "Rookie of the Year!"

NBC news reported on thier nightly broadcast that Obama was giveing the award to charity
Gordy's stream-of-consciousness writing style is quite hard to follow. It looks as if he struck a 12-year-old kid at Pryce Plaza with his cane for putting his feet on the table, and now he is getting sued by some the kids grandfather, who is a physician.
Looks like that famous Texas Temper has gotten Gordy in a bit of doo-doo.
The law is pretty clear about it: If you lay aggressive hands on somebody else's child (especially with something other than your bare hand... thus a weapon... thus possibly felony assault), no matter what your reasoning, you're in big trouble.
Gordy can joke with the police all he wants and write letters to internet boards... but he admitted to the police he hit the kid with a cane, and that is in the record. End of story.
When it boils down to laywers and judges and one pissed off (presumably rich) doctor all in a courtroom together, Gordy might be selling his house to pay for this one.

Gordy doesnt own a house as his house is rented from Congressman Rufus Rodriguez who will not come to his rescue in this event. Though Gordy Expects Congressman Rodriguez to piss away a multi million dollar pork barrel to help a kano who he only recieves 11,000php per month from.
The kid Gordy hit is named Xavier Madlangbayan.
The doctor are actually two , Dr. Severeino Madlangbayan and Dra. Matilde Madlangbayan who are Xaviers grandparents who take care of him while his parents are in the USA managing their family personal care fascilitys in Arizona and California.

You know for me I dont see why the Gordy "Gordy" Elletson basically called them chimpanzees in his confession , which he wrote using his texkano nic, for being irate after he hit their child with a weapon. I personally think they had every right to be irate as many people would have killed him on the spot for such an offense as it is natural instinct to protect ones youth and if you touch a man kid you pretty much are risking your life in any nation I know of.
p.s. I didn't realize that news about Gordy was stale. It's 6 months ago that it happened. Too late to write about it now.

Thats true but case hasnt even went to trail yet.
Do you know when the trial is going to be? It should be in the newspapers or somewhere other similar place. The next time this story steps into the spotlight, make sure to mention it here and I'll post about it then.
By the way... do you have a link that you can provide to the original message that was copied and pasted? I'd be interested to see what kind of comments followed Gordy's post... what kind of reaction it got.

The original message was posted in Gordys yahoogroup it is a adult yahoo group called RMWW (Right Minded Winged Warriors). He errased the original message ,and most the responses, a few weeks ago but I had saved it as a word document previous to that. I believe it still shows up in one or to responses on the list though.
Regarding it getting media Attention, I doubt it as I never even saw the original incident in any media which I found odd as it involved a wealthy family and a foreign national, took place in a upscale place and during US embassy outreach program. Really odd but I guess it says the ocal media there in CDO condones the abuse of the Philippine populace at the hands of derranged foreign nationals. I say this as that one guy writes stories often regarding injustices against foreigners in CDO yet didnt even make a keystroke when Gordy beat a kid with a cane during a embassy function at the citys premier function fascility.
Regarding the trail, It was rescheduled do to some kind of event last month but I havent yet inquired as to the new date. I will make a point to due that though.

Jil they now have gordys real home address, as I got it and gave it to them, they are contacting fiscal to get warrent served at proper address so Gordy can face the music on his child abuse charge. Time to watch the fireworks in action as the Texan gets burned for playing with fire.
I would be curious as to why Anonymous has so much interest in this case. I have no sympathy for Gordy, and hope justice is served. If Anonymous is who I think he is, the question stands, why the need to posts this and more over an incident that really doesn't concern him? Is there some agenda or motive behind all this? As far as Anonymous claiming that Gordy "beat a kid with a cane" {October 11, 2009 2:58 PM}, is far from accurate, and only goes to discredit himself. So if Anonymous cares to enlighten us, I am all ears.
Curious-Anon, I assume that Anti-Gordy-Anon is the same person who posted about this situation on another site using an actual name.
It doesn't particularly matter to me who he is or what his motivations are. He is obviously emotionally involved in this and upset about it, and may know the victims personally. He probably also knows Gordy to some extent or another and may have a beef with him outside the scope of this one incident. (That's not surprising either, as anyone who knows Gordy can attest.)
I also don't doubt that the actual incident falls somewhere between "tapped a kid with a cane" (as Gordy claims) and "beat a kid with a cane" (as Anti-Gordy-Anon claims)... probably closer to Gordy's description, though that doesn't make it right.
I still think it's an interesting story, and once it progresses some more, I'll write about it. I'd much rather see it in a newspaper first through.

Gordy didnt only BEAT little 8yr old Xavier Madlangbayan with his cane at price plaza hotel during a embassy function.
Gordy also got enraged at the boys grandfather, Dr. Severino Madlangbayan, for getting angry about him Beating his kid with a cane.
Gordy left a bruise on the small boy, sorry but thats ABUSE.
Next Gordy goes to police station and gives information in order to avoid prosecution, in fact a supeana was served 3 times yet no Gordy because wrong house. That problem is now solved.
Next Gordon goes home and writes a webpage bragging of his actions, ie the confession seen above.
Then Gordy goes around telling people the case was reduced and then dismissed altogether. Because the family of boy missed three court dates. He also hinted they settled for 40,000php hehehe. I guess he doesnt realize the family earns dollars by having business interest in America in 2 states.
I contacted the family as did the owner of a popular yahoo group. The family needless to say was very amazed to hear of the dismissal that Gordy lied about and where very happy to get Gordys correct address.
The family went to his website, yahoo groups etc and harvested information, good thing to a Gordy closed down his yahoo group and altered his website to try to cober his tracks.
Next week they will meet with Fiscal and have Gordy brought to justice. They say they do not want money, they surely dont need it, they want Justice
Gordy not only beat a kid but he also lied to police etc, he in a whole heap of trouble.
That where case is at current time
Great news the fat boy will go before the court on Nov 20, maybe they will deport the coward.
