Filipino Manny Pacquiao is boxing against Ricky Hatton live right now (11:40 a.m. Sunday morning). There is a big-screen set up in the town park just behind my house, and about 5,000 people are there watching.
Every time Pacquiao lands a punch, the crowd roars. It's so loud that I've actually had to close my windows so I could hear my work.
In related news: Puppy Tyson can now make it up the stairs. One second he was sitting at the bottom whimpering, the next second, he screwed up his courage and came gallumphing up the stairs, happy as a clam. Three cheers for my boy. We'll save getting down the stairs for another day.
UPDATE
A big loud triumphant roar rattled the windows for 30 seconds, and now crowds of jubilant Filipinos are walking by the house. Hmm... care to guess who won?
UPDATE II
Knockout 3 minutes into the second round. Hatton was out cold for enough time to make people anxious. Experts have been saying that Pacquiao is the "best fighter pound for pound"... I'm starting to see why they think that.

Yes, "pac-man" as he is called there is a true national hero. It is nice to see a country rally around someone.
