This doesn't surprise me hearing from this end about imported workers especially people from the Philippines where we just don't have people to fill particular jobs.
...and quite a few of them are in my hometown -- Daly City, California!
You should see Dubai. I think thats where they all go,LOL
You are absolutely right, Dago. A very large portion of overseas Filipinos are working in Dubai, especially as welders.
There are so many in fact that there was a soap opera on TV here in the Philippines about people working in Dubai. Obviously it showed life there as being rosy and prosperous, which I doubt is the case.
