I think because to them its so 'Evil' its also the most desirable, and when temptation gets that bad, you just gotta dip into it. If they didn't denounce it all the bloody time I bet they wouldn't be so tempted by it. Its like saying "I won't have another cookie" over and over again, eventually you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar because thats all that has been on your mind.

No matter how you spin the fact he is a butt pirate (it being taboo or the appearance of his wife) for him to speak out against the very indulgence he enjoys...it just cements the hypocrisy in US politics.
