Good reason? Sure: He's retired from politics and has other things to work on, but most importantly, after essentially winning the presidency, why would he settle for the Vice Presidency?
Not a chance in hell. First of all, if Obama makes Hillary his VP, it would be like admitting that everything she said about him during her campaign "had merit", as it were. Additionally, his entire message of "change" would be seriously compromised if he brought the ultimate Washington insider and professional politician (Hillary and Bill Clinton both) onto his campaign.
I don't see Gore doing it. Why go from being a prophet to being a politician? I think his new role is as a Nobel laureate fighting for the environment. There are worse ways to spend the last third of your life.
As for John Edwards, I suspect he will be the next Attorney General. When push comes to shove, he has a wife that is dying, plus he has already done the whole VP candidate thing.
Buckwheat and Opie ROTFLMFAO!!! Sorry I couldn't help it. I’m still pissed at the Reverend Wright thing. Gore will laugh in his face; he has already said he wouldn't take the Presidential Nomination so I can't see him accepting the VP spot. I’m still not sure Hilda beast won’t be asked, or maybe she will be the AG??? Interesting times we are in. I am already getting all those anti Christ e mails.
it is a shame that the people of the usa cannot get over the whole race thing. What ever happened to the best person for the job? It is a travesty in what is supposed to be a model of a 'free' society. This race was drawn in racial lines, a good eye opener for sure. 'buckweat'? Obama is a well educated-well spoken man; does his color of skin really scare/matter that much?

That is a good (but a bit too safe) of a call.
Do you think Gore has a good reason to say no?

Tom,
Great points you have made. I have always assumed that Al Gore would never say "yes", but I imagine he would still be offered the job... just in case.
I still have my money on John Edwards, although your point about his wife is well worth considering.
