But Don't Expect Filipinos To Believe A Word Of It

I found this list of 27 years of US/Canada dog attacks by breed online. I'm consolidating and trimming it here (removing rare breeds, combining cross-breeds and sub-breeds) for your consideration:

BREED# ATTACKS
Akita58

Of course, all the evidence and data in the world isn't going to stop Filipinos from screaming and running away from this:

But, perhaps you will believe me when I say in all honesty: Dobermans make the most excellent family dogs.

I had a Dalmatian. Everybody thought it was a friendly dog because of the Walt Disney movie until they tried to open the gate...

  3. Dobermans are very protective & intelligent so they make good guard dogs, but they're also sweet-tempered and great with kids. Our apartment is infested with two of them now, a 7 month old female and a 4 monh old male (that already weighs almost as much as she does). Little Joshua is the happiest dog, always smiling and licking us, but he does growl at strangers while Rahab likes to bay at them.

  4. Well i can say that golden retrievers are very friendly, social dogs. i have a golden retriever but this never happened to me, or to my friends coming to my home.

  5. Golden retrievers make excellent watchdogs. They lay there and watch the burglar take everything. :) The only danger from them would be in getting licked to death or beaten with their tails.
