About That Shooting The Other Night

I've had everybody ask me about this, and I noticed that a lot of people were visiting my blog today probably hoping I would mention it. I'm figuring that since the news stories are exceptionally different than what I had heard from the people (allegedly) involved, I'd put their version of the story up here.

This is what I was told:

On Tuesday night, Mike Turner went to drop off a camera with some guy he knows (in general... not close friends). Later that evening... about 2 or 3 hours after Mike dropped off the camera and went home, the guy whom Mike saw got into a gunfight at a bar and 3 people died.

Several people who know the shooter said that they saw Mike talking to the guy earlier in the evening. Police questioned Mike about this, and that was the end of it.

Now: If there is more to the story, I haven't heard it. That's Mike's version of events... and that's all I can attest to.

  1. Is mike turner is really involved in the gunhunt? In law, he is also responsible for the case..since he denied his best friend...?

  2. Anon,

I suggest you read the article again, especially the part that says, "and that was the end of it."

And what is this "denied his best friend" silliness that you are talking about. That makes no sense.

  4. Anon,

The reason is — and as you seem to be totally ignorant of the fact, I'll tell you — that all of the television stations and news programs already ran stories mentioning Mike Turner as somehow being directly involved in the shooting.

Since Mike claims quite the opposite, that he was nowhere near the incident when it occurred, and the television stations were running a rather different version of events, I am putting what Mike told me on the internet.

I'll leave it up to you to guess whether or not I asked Mike whether I could or should put this information on my blog.

And please don't move back to CDO. We're happy that you left.

  5. I dont see problem with Jil mentioning Mike Turners name. I mean hell his name is allready plastered all over SunStar in a article that basically makes him look guilty of something. Anyway, Why cant Jil tell his friends side since the press obviously isnt.

  6. Sun Star too? Shit, I hadn't seen that one yet.

  8. Anon, you are right, and I'm deleting your comment and the comment above that mentions that, especially since I have zero proof that it is true. (You both know what I am talking about.)

However, I'll post the pertinent parts here below.

Comment #1 that was deleted said,

"With friends like you, who needs enemies. Why would you put his name all over internet on this matter? Remind me when I move back to CDO to stay away from you. You have a problem with your mouth. With Michael T, who knows. Maybe it was a camera he was dropping off or maybe it was a gun. If he is innocent why would you put his name online. Are you a dope? This is why I stayed away from foreigners when I lived there... diarrhea of the mouth."

Comment 2 that was deleted said,

"Check Sunstar online under CDO. They are saying the shooters where police and the Police Director is saying he doesnt believe Mike Turners alibi and that charges will be filed if he doesnt start at least cooperating with police investigation."

  9. Jil,

Very understandable censorship as was surprised you let the historic comment through at all. Maybe you should delete your above post (and this one also) though as didnt make much sense to delete the postings then copy them into your own posting. If in Mikes shoes Id simply take a vacation , during which time atty could work, then return once things are smoothed out. I mean he shouldnt help turn in killer cops (not very smart) and appearing to be the silent foreigner doesnt help much either as only brings suspecions to himself. Anyway, I wish him the best of luck.

I'm sure that Attorney Joe is handling things as he always expertly does.

  11. In the sunstar today:
THE Philippine National Police (PNP) has already filed murder charges against Police Inspector Anselmo Ladra who remains at large as of this posting Monday...
Remindes me of Thailand where the first suspect is always the foreigner. Are the Philippines similar ?

  12. Karl,

I don't think it is the concept that the first suspect is always a foreigner. Instead, I think that if a foreigner can be linked to a story in any way, it provides the story a shot of adrenaline, and makes it more juicy... like with actors and singers in America.

  13. killing is just simple to them...but we know the laws will prevail all the time. The crime was already commited so all the suspects must put in jail and arrest immediate includes the mike foreigner.

  14. Mike has already been questioned by the police, and the police have determined that he had no involvement in what happened, and have publicly announced that he is no longer a part of the investigation in any way. No charges, no further questions, no suspicions.
