Twenty-one cases of swine flu have been discovered in Pattaya. This brings the world total to 74 countries with 27,737 cases and 141 deaths. (The Philippines has a few dozen cases as well up in Manila.)
To quote one person: Flying Air France is more dangerous.
Well, another person did say that there are various stages of virulence of a flu virus, and what scientists are scared of is what happens if/when the flu reaches "stage 3".
I suppose a dash of hope mixed in with my sardonicism might be appropriate.
As of right now the 'swine flu' (mis-named as pigs don't get it) has killed less than 190 people but the regular flu has killed thousands (see link below) but the media needs it's PET of the month to scare everyone into staying inside and watching the TV. SARS, AIDS, that little boy from Cuba..anything for some ratings.
