I'm wondering, Jil, do you ever miss anything about the US?
Myself, I lived in Asia (mostly China and Thailand) for a number of years and there was nothing much I missed about Europe. Then I moved back here with my wife and after a while discovered there were a lot of things I actually had missed, without realising. A Sunday roast, buying a newspaper I can actually read that doesn't cost 15$, a proper cup of coffee, people who immediatly understand what I'm asking,... that sort of thing.
Of course, for you living in the Philippines things might be easier as most people speak English well there. My wife obviously speaks English very well, but I found things a bit lonely after a while in China.
Now of course, living in Europe, there's about a million things I miss about Asia and this time I *do* realise I miss them.
Just wondering.
Before I left America, aside from spending my weekends out at clubs, I spent most of my time alone in my apartment with the internet and television.
So: I had internet and television there, I have internet and television here. Not too much difference, except for a few channels I miss.
I do miss the seasons though. I used to enjoy the fall and the spring.
I miss being able to buy all the things on my shopping list. Well, actually that's not true: I just dislike not having everything I want to buy available at the stores here.
Other than that, no. I don't miss anything too much.
