So, yes... that would be an option as long as (a) you don't spend any of the principal, and (b) inflation and currency devaluation and return on investment all remain stable.

I suppose if you find a way to supplement your income by about $1000 per month with part-time work, it would be a much better idea than a chicken farm.Jil Wrinklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08289612869693691661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943735266880000142.post-79504667136463197312010-08-27T11:11:03.226-04:002010-08-27T11:11:03.226-04:00Jill, $500,000 is good for about $1670 per month a...Jill, $500,000 is good for about $1670 per month at 4% interest. That's 75,000p per month income. You can live in PI with that type of income...no problem!

The last two times i saw foreigners start chicken farms, the chickens died off because of unsanitary conditions and what chickens were left was eaten by the family!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943735266880000142.post-75290060753946558602010-08-26T18:55:18.403-04:002010-08-26T18:55:18.403-04:00$500,000 isn't enough to live the rest of my l...$500,000 isn't enough to live the rest of my life by any stretch of the imagination. It wouldn't even last me 10 years. I'd take it and build my chicken farm here in Jasaan to create an actual income.Jil Wrinklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08289612869693691661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943735266880000142.post-1319377766187124272010-08-26T14:10:07.135-04:002010-08-26T14:10:07.135-04:00Totally unrelated to this post, Jil, you're a ...Totally unrelated to this post, Jil, you're a man of the world. if you had 500k$ in cash and no job where would you live? I like Star Trek because it explores all different kinds of paths of humanity in its episodes... much like Doctor Who as well.Jil Wrinklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08289612869693691661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1943735266880000142.post-10814572056750017002010-08-24T09:26:40.520-04:002010-08-24T09:26:40.520-04:00Totally unrelated to this post, Jil, I noticed the...Totally unrelated to this post, Jil, I noticed the past years you're quite a Trekkie. I was wondering, what is your opinion about (the new) Battlestar Galactica. I used to be a Trekkie too but after watching 3 seasons BSG, I'm not really enjoying Star Trek any longer, it just doesn't compare for me. Would be interested to hear your 2 cents.krisnoreply@blogger.com
